Rashtriya Sabha Speaker Dahal made a courtesy call on IPU President and General Secretary

Kathmandu, Asoj 29 – National Assembly President Narayan Prasad Dahal has paid a courtesy call on Inter-Legislative Association President Dr. Tulia Aksan and General Secretary Martin Chungong.
In this meeting, topics like mutual cooperation with Nepal’s Federal Parliament and Inter-Legislative Association, exchange of cooperation, role of parliament for democracy etc. were discussed.
In the meeting, President Dahal said that the various meetings and programs of IPU help in making the parliamentary role effective through dialogue, cooperation and exchange of actual practices on issues of democracy, human rights, gender equality, youth empowerment, long-term development etc. On that occasion he asked to be in direct contact with the IPU and to think about Nepal’s participation in its Secretariat.
On this occasion, Dr. Tulia Aksan, President of Inter Legislature Union expressed happiness and said that Nepal has been actively participating in IPU since past.
